inGo - Digital, Verifiable and Secure Subcontractor Management Including Physical Access
by esatus AG
Checking documents, monitoring deadlines, and granting site access for subcontractors is still often handled manually, with paper folders and spreadsheets - on construction sites, in logistics, and in technical services alike. inGo digitalizes this process using decentralized identities (DIDs), digital wallets, and Verifiable Credentials (VCs), built on open standards (OpenID4VCI/VP, EUDI Wallet ARF) so it interoperates with other EUDI-ARF-conformant wallets rather than locking participants into a single vendor. Employees receive credentials - such as site certificates, ID cards, work permits, or safety training - directly in their personal wallet. Using selective disclosure (SD-JWT VC), they can prove only what's required for a check, e.g. a valid access permit, without revealing unrelated personal data. General contractors gain a real-time, cryptographically verifiable overview of credentials, deadlines, and site access. Subcontractors manage documents and credentials for their employees once and reuse them across projects - replacing manual paper checks with instant, auditable verification, on a secure, privacy-preserving, GDPR-compliant foundation.

How it works
inGo enables a range of processes built on wallets and Verifiable Credentials:
1. Onboarding: General contractors and subcontractors set up business wallets to manage employees and share project access.
2. Issuance: Subcontractors and general contractors issue credentials (site certificates, ID cards, work permits, safety training) as Verifiable Credentials into each employee's personal wallet.
3. Verification: The credentials are used to gain a verified site access, at site entrances (e.g. turnstiles) or during inspections inGo can tell if all required documents are available and valid in seconds - no paper, no manual lookup.
4. Selective disclosure: Employees share only the specific attribute needed (e.g. "valid access permit: yes"), not full documents.
5. Audit trail: Every verification is logged in an auditable, GDPR-compliant record.
External trusted issuers - e.g. government authorities, insurance companies, or certification bodies - are planned as additional issuers (e.g. state-verified identity, insurance proof).
