Other Tracks
Community tracks can take many forms, from small, local experiments to large-scale international initiatives.
Some focus on a specific domain or use case; others explore broader questions around interoperability, semantics, or policy.
The FIDES Community provides a shared space for these efforts: offering tools, infrastructure, and visibility to support collaboration and reuse.
The FIDES Community values openness and plurality. Different tracks may explore similar goals in different ways. Publishing them side by side allows the community to learn from diverse perspectives, and to strengthen what works, together.
Examples
Some tracks are initiated and coordinated by FIDES Labs, but many are not. Examples include:
- eInvoicing & IntTrade
- EUDI Wallet Large Scale Pilots (LSPs) such as POTENTIAL, DC4EU, and EWC, each exploring cross-border use cases for Europe’s digital identity framework.
- Data space initiatives like Gaia-X and Pontus-X, which often depend on verifiable credentials and wallet interoperability.
- Trade and product passport pilots under the United Nations Transparency Protocol (UNTP), which focus on trusted digital documentation for goods, fuel, and logistics.
- Future FIDES-coordinated tracks, such as:
- eInvoicing and organizational trust infrastructure
- Age verification and access control
- Digital credentials for webshops and SME onboarding
Community tracks are not isolated silos. Many of the components used, such as wallets, credential formats, testbeds, and semantic vocabularies, are designed to be reusable across tracks.
For example:
- A personal wallet tested in one track can be reused in another without additional integration.
- A credential, such as an ISO certificate or verified employee credential, can support multiple use cases across domains.
- Organizational wallets issued by a company or authority can participate in various tracks simultaneously.
- Shared infrastructure like Blue Pages, the public directory for trusted organizations, can support use cases across different sectors and geographies.
This reuse helps accelerate adoption, reduce duplication, and ensure that all tracks contribute to a growing ecosystem of interoperable solutions.
Note: Publication of a community track on this website does not imply endorsement by the FIDES Community or FIDES Labs. All contributions are welcome, even when they take different approaches. The goal is to foster open comparison, reflection, and dialogue.
