Community Tracks
Practical, open pilots for digital trust and credential innovation.
Community tracks are collaborative efforts where digital wallets and verifiable credentials are explored and implemented in real-world setting, across sectors, domains, and regions.
Some tracks begin as small-scale pilots. Others evolve into large-scale, production-ready ecosystems involving public authorities, private actors, and international coalitions.
A community track might focus on:
- Cross-border invoicing and procurement
- Digital product passports and supply chains
- Student mobility and diploma verification
- Age verification, permits, or organizational compliance
What unites them is a commitment to openness, interoperability, and practical implementation.
How Community Tracks Work
Open by Design
Any organization, public or private, can start a community track, reuse shared tools, or contribute to testing and alignment efforts.
FIDES Labs helps facilitate tracks — but the community model is open and collaborative by default.
You don’t need permission to align with or contribute — but support is available when needed.
Part of a Wider Ecosystem
Large-scale programs like the EUDI Wallet pilots (EWC, POTENTIAL, DC4EU), Gaia-X, Pontus-X, or UN/CEFACT initiatives can also be seen as community tracks, even if they operate independently.
FIDES helps reduce fragmentation by offering a shared, neutral platform for discovery and alignment.
Common Ingredients
Tracks vary in scope, but typically include:
– A clear use case and shared challenge
– One or more verifiable credentials
– Participating wallets, issuers, and verifiers
– A technical interoperability profile (HAIP, EWC v3, DIIP v4, etc.)
– Semantic models and aligned vocabularies
– Shared testing infrastructure and optional SLAs
Want to get involved?
Whether you want to explore existing tracks, see track ideas, or start your own, the FIDES Community offers support, shared tools, and a growing network of collaborators.
